How a Clan choice locks the story
Prophecy Mode is four original Clan stories, told as four story campaigns. Defender Mode and Skirmish Mode are the other two game types, and they are a separate choice from the Clan. Once a story is chosen, the saga name on that entry is the one the save follows.
ThunderClan is the dense forests and the ThunderClan Saga. RiverClan is the marshlands and the RiverClan Saga. ShadowClan is the dark pine swamps and the ShadowClan Saga. WindClan is the open moors and the WindClan Saga. All four use Prophecy Mode as the story mode. Each entry records territory, saga, and mode.
Four achievements match those sagas. ThunderClan Savior, RiverClan Savior, ShadowClan Savior and WindClan Savior each ask you to complete that saga for the first time. They are separate from the territory pages. The Moonpool and The Island are the two named places that are not a Clan land. Adventurous Soul still asks for 46 map locations, so most of those locations are still unnamed.
Camp layout, leader, and starter quest are still unknown. Battles stay turn-based and can be 3 versus 3 no matter which saga you picked. The 27 achievements, the 75 combat moves, and the den you furnish from forage sit outside the Clan choice. Compare the four entries when you want the lands side by side, and open a Clan when you want its saga achievement.
The battle shape does not change with the Clan. Fights are turn-based and can be 3 versus 3. The universal moves keep the same stamina, damage and accuracy whether the saga is ThunderClan or WindClan. Herbs still barter for the same recovery. The den still takes forage. Bedding and a scratching post are things you can place there.
Friend camps, crafting help, gifts and Skirmish battles stay asynchronous. Defender Mode and Skirmish Mode remain available as the other two game types after you have picked a story. The creator still starts from fur, color, tail, whiskers, ears, eyes and markings. Book cats still meet that original cat: 9 from the series, including Brightheart, Tawnypelt, Tallstar and Ivypool. Those parts of the game stay the same whichever Clan you pick. What changes is the land and the saga name.
What is known for each Clan is the land, the saga, and Prophecy Mode. Defender Mode is one run against the fiercest enemies, and it keeps going until you fall. Skirmish Mode is a battle with another player that waits its turn instead of sharing a live session. Inside a saga you can also pick up Path to Mastery, Healing Measures, Warrior's Proof, Combat Challenge and Fair Exchange. Those groups cover basic camp work, medicine, fighting, a predator hunt, and barter.
